Captain Brian Barrera
Your South Texas Saltwater Experience begins with Captain Brian Barrera near the Texas/Mexico border on the Lower Laguna Madre. Back-dropped with a unique variety of southwestern flora, this pristine 130 mile estuary is one of only four hypersaline ecosystems in the world. The semi-arid climate of south Texas, combined with only two inlets maintains the bay’s salinity to that of slightly higher than seawater producing a wide diversity of game species from redfish, tarpon, and black drum, to giant seatrout and snook. A graduate of Texas A&M University Kingsville with a B.S. Degree in Range and Wildlife Science, Captain Barrera offers a wealth of knowledge on South Texas wildlife and its fisheries and has dedicated his life to being a steward of the outdoors on and off the water. Whether it’s stalking the clear shallow grassflats for tailing redfish and seatrout, or experiencing his specialty of putting clients on big snook and tarpon, your South Texas adventure will be like none other!
